Macleod & MacCallum North Caledonian League
    Inverness Athletic v St Duthus
    Inverness Royal Academy 3G, Inverness
    2.30pm

Inverness Athletic are back to Macleod & MacCallum League action this weekend as they welcome St Duthus to the Highland capital.

Matches between the sides have always been tight affairs and Shane Carling’s side are well awear that Saturday’s clash will once again be a tough afternoons work. Carlings side do go into the match in good form having scored 15 goals so far this season in only 2 games, so confidence is high in the squad as they look to maintain their 100% record at their new home in Inverness. Athletic will defiantly be looking for a better result and performances from the last time the sides met, all be it that was early on last season, where the Tain outfit ran out comfortable 4-1 winners at Pavillion Park in Muir of Ord.

St Duthus will be on a high themselves as they come into the game on the back of an impressive 4-1 away win at Morrison Park, Halkirk. Stuart Ross’s side had to battle back from a goal down to take all 3 points back down the A9 to Tain, their second win of the League season.

Carling has said about Saturdays match, “It’s good to get back to League action after unfortunately having a free week last weekend. St Duthus are going to be a stern test for the lads this weekend as Stuart Ross always has his sides well organised and hard to beat, as we found out last season. Training has been good, and the boys are looking forward to the game and hopefully continuing our excellent start to the season.”

The Manager will be without the services of Martin Bain and Ryan Ingram for Saturday games. However, he is able to welcome back last season’s Players Player for the year Dean Allison into the match day squad after he missed the win over Nairn County two weeks ago. There is also a welcome return to the squad for Athletics all-time leading marksman Phil Macdonald, who is available after work and injury have hampered his start to the new season.
