Saturday 26th October
Macleod & MacCallum North Caledonian League
Inverness Athletic v Bonar Bridge
Bught Park, Inverness
2pm Kick off
Inverness welcome Bonar Bridge to the Highland capital this weekend, for a first ever meeting between the two sides, as Athletic look to halt a four game losing streak.
Inverness Athletic will be looking to end a horror run of results tomorrow are they welcome the leagues bottom side Bonar Bridge to Inverness. Shane Carling’s side have tasted defeat in the previous four outings in both league and cup, and the manager will be looking for a reaction from his players as they look to get their stuttering season back on the right track. This will be the first ever meeting between the sides, with Bonar Bridge only re-entering the league at the start of this season. Miller MacKay’s have not enjoyed an easy start since re-joining the league, having unfortunately been on the losing side in each of their six outings so far this season. Regardless of Bonar Bridge’s poor start to life back in the North Caledonian League, manager Shane Carling is under no illusions that Saturday will be an easy game.
“Yes, ok Bonar have had a poor start this season but if you look at their recent results you will see that there has been a massive improvement as their players start to find their feet in the league. We know ourselves how hard it is to win games in this league with the start we have had this season, but that is definitely something we are looking to put right on Saturday. The last four games have been no where near good enough, the desire, commitment, creativity have all been so poor from the players and we have let them know that. We simply have to get better and that’s starts on Saturday are we look to put this poor run to bed.”
The Manager will once again be without a number of players for the visit on Bonar, Calum Black, Taylor Sutherland and DJ Macphee are all still coming back from Injuries. Dean Allison misses out through suspension after last weekends red card at Invergordon and Lee Tarran and Liam Symonds are both unavailable. The manager is able to welcome new loan signing Andrew Miller into the squad along with James Mackay and Jonny Hewitt who both return after injury.
