  • Inverness Athletic FC continued their preparation for the 2020/21 North Caledonian League season with a narrow one nil win over St Duthus in a sunny Muir of Ord today.

In what was an evenly matched game throughout, it would take a solitary goal from second half substitute Luke Mackay to ensure Jason Golabek’s side chalked up their first win of pre-season, and in doing so swiftly putting last weekend’s nightmare in Invergordon behind them.

Golabek said after the game, “Delighted to get our first win of pre-season and put that horror result from last week behind us. The work rate from the players today was amazing. Every single one of them put in a shift and worked hard for each other and did what me, Mark and Donnie asked them to do. Yes, it’s a good win but we are not going to get carried away with it, its only pre-season and as always, the most important thing we got out of the game is game time against a very good side in St Duthus. We will get the lads back to training this week and continue the hard work we have been doing as we prepare for next weekend.”

Thank you to St Duthus for the game today and all the best to Stuart, Andrew and their squad for the up coming season.
