    Pentland Ferries North Caledonian Cup
    Invergordon v Inverness Athletic
    Recreation Grounds, Invergordon

It’s a break from league action this weekend for Inverness Athletic as Jason Golabek takes his squad to Recreation Grounds to face Invergordon in the North Caledonian Cup.

Although Golabek’s squad go into the match in good form, having won 3 and drawn 1 of their last four fixtures, they are all too aware that Saturdays match will be a hard afternoons work against a very good North Caledonian League side. Gary Campbells’ team are top of League One and came into the game on a near perfect run, with a draw last weekend away to Halkirk Utd the only blot on their seasons copy book.

While the manager knows Athletic will have to be at their best to compete with Invergordon, he trusts his improving young side will do just that and hopefully book their place in the next round,

“We are under no illusions that Saturday will be a hard one for the lads but we have confidence in them that we can go and compete against a very good Invergordon side. We are not just turning up on Saturday to make up the numbers and let Invergordon win, we are going there to play well, work hard and hopefully secure our place in the next round of the cup.”

Athletic will still be without the services of midfield duo Jack Wardrop and Ryan Keil as they both continue their recovery from Injury. Defender Kai Taylor also misses out due to work commitments. The manager is however able to welcome back Lewis Smith, Paul Gair and striker Ross Munro who makes his long-awaited return from injury. Athletic are also able to welcome new signing Ruaridh Patience into the matchday squad after he put pen to paper this past week.
