• Inverness Athletics’ preparations for the 2021/22 North Caledonian League season have been handed a boost today with the addition of three new signings.

Manager Jason Golabek and his coaching team have been working hard over the summer to make improvements to last season’s squad in time for the start of the new campaign. Several players have moved on from the club to pastures new so the management team knew they would have to find suitable replacements, which they has duly done. Kieran Duffty, Thomas Lewis and Graham Stewart have all been added to the first team squad for the coming season, subject to SFA clearance.

Exciting striker Duffty joins the club from Nairn County, via Culloden Blacksmiths in the Inverness & District Amateur Leagues. Duffty is no stranger to North Caledonian League football having played and scored regularly for Nairn County reserves last season.

Thomas Lewis joins Athletic on loan from our Highland League neighbours Clachnacuddin. Lewis, 18, is a fantastic prospect and a player that will bring alot to Jason Golabek’s squad with his pace and versatility. We would like to thank Clachnacuddin for allowing Thomas to join us for the coming season.

Graham Stewart joins the club with a wealth of footballing experience having played Highland League football with Fort William, Nairn County and Clachnacuddin as well as featuring for Inverness City in the Junior ranks. Graham’s experience will be vitally important to Athletics’ young squad this coming season.

Manager Jason Golabek has his say about the new arrivals, “We are absolutely delighted to get these three lads in. We were light in the forward areas last season, so we knew that this was an area we need to strengthen over the summer. In Kieran and Thomas, I think we have done just that. They are both talented young footballers who will offers us something a little extra going forward. When we found out that Graham was available, we knew we had to do all we could get him along. Graham’s experience and leadership on the pitch will be priceless for us this season and we are over the moon to get him signed. We are still looking to add further to the squad and will hopefully have a few more additions in before Saturday's trip to Golspie.”

    Welcome to the club lads.

There have been some departures from Jason Golabek’s sqaud over the summer. Connor Smith, Lewis Smith and Paul Gair have all left the club and joined fellow North Caledonian League side St Duthus. Ryan Keil and Ryan Macleod have also decided to leave the club due to other commitments. We would like to put on record our thanks to all these players and wish them all the best in their future endeavours.
